At the time I am writing this, according to the news, more than three billion people are requested to stay at home in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19. So, while we are practising social distancing to fight this pandemic, we all need things to do. This is why, for the duration, we are going to post things to that you can do from the comfort of your living room.

In this post we are going to present you five very interesting Science Fiction books that you can read, if you haven’t already. And even if you have read some or all of the books in the past, this is a perfect opportunity to revisit a classic. So, without further ado here are our suggestions.

Journey To The Centre Of The Earth

by Jules Verne

We will kickstart this list with a classic. Follow Prof. Liedenbrock journey starting from an Icelandic volcano to this planet’s very core.

1984

by George Orwell

If you have never read this one, then you should. The book portrays how in the future a totalitarian regime spies on its citizens. It is a chilling warning for everyone.

Ender’s Game

by Orson Scott Card

The first book of Ender’s Saga, follows Andrew “Ender” Wiggin through his training at Battle School. A Hugo and Nebula winner.

Dune

by Frank Herbert

Another first one in a series of books, Dune introduces us to Paul Atreides. His adventures on the homonymous planet will change the galaxy.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy

by Douglas Adams

While usually Sci-Fi novels take place in the (most of the times, dystopian) future Adams sets his story in the present. Follow Arthur Dent in his travels through the galaxy. So, as long that you have a towel Don’t Panic, everything will work out in the end.

And with this we conclude our list of Sci-Fi novels to read. If you end up reading all of them, then the days spend self-distancing yourselves will pass by without even noticing.
Again, please stay home and stay safe.
