In 2016, it was the first time that Greece participated in the European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC 2016), organized by ENISA. The formation, training and coaching of the Greek National CyberSecurity team was a purely community-driven event, organized by TwelveSec and the University of Piraeus.
In order to form the team, a qualification round CTF was performed in June 2016. Thus, we had to create the InfoSec challenges to be used. The Greek Information Security community was eager to help and we produced 8 challenges that were finally used during the qualification round.
At this point, we would like to give a big “thank you” to all of the people of the community that helped in this first-time-difficult-as-it-is endeavor:
Fotis Ailianos, Andi Anastasi, Manos Gavriil, Razvan Gavrila, Dimitris Dorizas, George Karagiannidis, John Kolovos, Takis Krommydakis, Chris Lamprinos, nasosnik, Lefteris Panos, Christos Papadiotis, dxflatline, Xenofon Vassilakopoulos, Alex Zaharis.
The team would never have made them without them!
This year, Greece participates for the second time and the past weekend the qualification round took place. Thus, we can now release the challenges of the qualification round of last year, in order for everybody to play around. We will also be releasing a series of write-ups for each challenge. So, stay tuned!
